Pelita helicopter goes missing<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A Pelita Air Service helicopter with three
\npassengers reported missing Jan. 9 in West Kalimantan has still
\nnot been found, a press report said yesterday.<\/p>\n
It is feared the Bolkow 105 helicopter crashed in the jungle.<\/p>\n
Authorities identified the three passengers as pilot Izwar E,
\nload master Marsono and technician Suwito.<\/p>\n
The helicopter disappeared at 9:40 a.m. local time during a
\nflight between Nangalaki, West Kalimantan and Long Bangun, East
\nKalimantan.<\/p>\n
PT Perintis Agung Mahligai chartered the helicopter to conduct
\na gold deposits survey in Long Bangun.<\/p>\n
The director of Nangalaki airfield, Sabakis, said the search
\nand rescue team, led by his field commander Maj. Tambunan, used
\nfour helicopters comprising three Pumas and a Bolkow to search
\nfor the missing helicopter.<\/p>\n
Contact with the helicopter was lost at 9:40 a.m. local time,
\nThursday.<\/p>\n
He told Antara Tuesday the search and rescue team, coordinated
\nby Pelita's Captain Suhari, had combed a number of areas.<\/p>\n
Capt. Mutoha, head of Pelita Air Service in Balikpapan, East
\nKalimantan, said Sunday the air traffic controller in Long Bagun
\nhad not established contact with the ill-fated helicopter.<\/p>\n
The helicopter had contacted the airfield only once after the
