        "content": "<p>An Air Tractor AT-802 aircraft operated by Pelita Air Service crashed\nin the mountainous Pabetung Remayo area, East Krayan District, Nunukan\nRegency, East Kalimantan on Thursday, 19 February 2026. The aircraft,\nwhich was carrying fuel oil, had been scheduled to fly to Tarakan.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of Civil Aviation Lukman F. Laisa confirmed that the\naircraft was occupied by a single pilot. \u201cThe latest information we\nreceived at 15:16 WITA is that the pilot, Captain Hendrick Lodewyck\nAdam, has been confirmed dead,\u201d he said in a written statement on\nThursday, 19 February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the aircraft had undergone routine inspections as part\nof airworthiness checks. The aircraft\u2019s total logged flight hours stood\nat 3,303 hours, with the most recent entry recorded on 11 February\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe investigation process will be carried out in accordance with\nprevailing regulations by the competent authorities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The body of the Pelita Air pilot has been evacuated by Indonesian\nNational Armed Forces (TNI) soldiers. The evacuation was conducted by\nthe Indonesia-Malaysia Border Security Task Force together with\npersonnel from the Nunukan Military District Command.<\/p>\n<p>TNI soldiers found the Pelita Air aircraft in a severely damaged and\nburnt condition.
