PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok (PTP Nonpetikemas) held PortPress 2026 as\nan initiative to strengthen public understanding of the port sector\u2019s\ncontribution to logistics and economic growth.<\/p>\n
Carrying the theme \u201cPorts Drive Logistics, Boost the Regional\nEconomy\u201d, the event took place at the Auditorium of the National Library\nof Indonesia in Jakarta on Wednesday, 29 July 2026.<\/p>\n
President Director of PTP Nonpetikemas, Indra Hidayat Sani, said that\nbeyond serving as an appreciation event for media professionals,\nPortPress 2026 also provided a space for collaboration between the\ncompany, customers, media and stakeholders.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe series of activities includes a journalistic works competition,\nstrategic discussion forums and training on developments in digital\ncommunication, in order to broaden the reach of information on the\ntransformation of the port sector,\u201d Indra said in a statement on\nWednesday, 29 July 2026.<\/p>\n
He emphasised that strengthening the port sector must go hand in hand\nwith strengthening public communication. According to him, the\ntransformation undertaken by the company will have a broader impact when\nthe public understands the role of ports as drivers of national\nlogistics and supporters of economic growth.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the government pushes mineral downstreaming, food\nself-sufficiency, infrastructure development and export growth, demand\nfor non-container terminals will rise. In line with this, we are here to\nsupport the regional economy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
PTP Nonpetikemas\u2019 operational performance in the first half of 2026\nshowed a positive growth trend. As of June 2026, the company recorded a\ntotal throughput of 26,799,777 tonnes\/m\u00b3, reaching 108 per cent of its\ncorporate budget plan (RKAP) target and growing 20 per cent compared\nwith the same period in 2025.<\/p>\n
The achievement was driven by an increase in general cargo flows of\n6.64 million tonnes, up 10.89 per cent year on year, liquid bulk of 6.23\nmillion tonnes, up 24.07 per cent, and dry bulk of 12.57 million tonnes,\nup 25.74 per cent. Overall, this reflects rising logistics and trade\nactivity across various regions.<\/p>\n
Support for the initiative also came from port service users. Head of\nOperations at Meratus Line, Heri Cahyono, said that effective\ncommunication is one of the key factors in building an integrated and\ncompetitive logistics ecosystem.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen ports are fast and efficient, we as maritime industry players\nwill automatically need additional equipment and increased vessel\ncapacity, because there is a limit to speed and it must be pursued\ntogether.
