        "content": "<p>Makassar (ANTARA) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 4 and\nthe Southwest Papua Provincial DPRD are accelerating the development of\nSorong Port as a logistics hub in the Eastern Indonesia region (KTI).\n\u201cEfforts to strengthen the role of Eastern Indonesia as a centre for\neconomic growth continue to be promoted. One of them is through synergy\nbetween PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 4 and the Southwest\nPapua Provincial DPRD,\u201d said Division Head of Operations for Pelindo\nRegional 4, Yusida M Palesang, in Makassar on Monday. The working visit\nby Commission III of the Southwest Papua DPRD to the Pelindo Regional 4\noffice in Makassar discussed strategic steps to position Sorong Port as\nthe main logistics node in KTI. The visit was led by Deputy Chairman II\nof the Southwest Papua DPRD, Fredrik F A Marlissa, along with Chairman\nof Commission III, Max A Hehanussa. Fredrik Marlissa emphasised that the\nstrategic position of Sorong Port in Southwest Papua must be supported\nby accelerated infrastructure development and improved services. \u201cSorong\nPort plays a vital role in supporting connectivity and economic growth.\nIts development is an urgent need to address increasing economic\nactivities,\u201d he stated. In agreement, Max Hehanussa assessed that\ncollaboration between local government and Pelindo is a key factor for\neffective port development that directly benefits the community. \u201cWe\nhope this synergy will grow stronger so that development programmes can\nbe directed, measurable, and provide tangible benefits,\u201d he said.\nMeanwhile, Yusida expressed Pelindo\u2019s commitment to ongoing gradual\ndevelopment, both in terms of infrastructure and improvements in\noperational service quality. According to her, several strategic plans\nhave been prepared, ranging from increasing terminal capacity,\noptimising loading and unloading facilities, to strengthening\ndigital-based operational systems to enhance efficiency and the port\u2019s\ncompetitiveness.<\/p>",
