        "content": "<p>PT Pegadaian (Persero), together with the Financial Services\nAuthority (OJK), Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), the Indonesia Stock\nExchange (BEI), Bank Indonesia (BI), and the Nunukan Regency Government,\nis collaborating to hold the 2026 National Financial Literacy Movement\n(GENCARKAN) in Nunukan Regency and Sebatik Island, North Kalimantan, on\n22\u201323 June 2026. Deputy Business Manager of PT Pegadaian Tarakan Area,\nFeri Andika Pelawi, stated that Pegadaian\u2019s involvement reflects the\ncompany\u2019s commitment to providing inclusive financial education and\naccess to services up to the border with Malaysia. \u201cAs part of the\nnational financial ecosystem, Pegadaian has a responsibility to improve\npublic financial literacy and inclusion, including in border areas such\nas Sebatik and Nunukan,\u201d Feri said in a written statement received in\nTarakan on Wednesday. He added that through GENCARKAN, the aim is to\nensure the public has a good understanding of financial management, safe\ninvestment, and the use of formal financial products and services to\nimprove their welfare. Rinaldi Lubis, Regional Head of PT Pegadaian\nRegional Office IV Balikpapan, appreciated the collaboration between\nOJK, BI, the local government, and all financial services industry\nplayers in making the programme a success. \u201cBorder areas have a\nstrategic role as Indonesia\u2019s front porch. Therefore, improving\nfinancial literacy and inclusion in the 3T regions is crucial so that\ncommunities become more empowered and protected from illegal financial\nrisks,\u201d said Rinaldi. He added that this would also enable them to\nutilise formal financial services to support family and regional\neconomic growth, and that Pegadaian will continue to support financial\neducation programmes that provide tangible benefits to the community.\nThrough the GENCARKAN Nunukan-Sebatik 2026 event, it is hoped that more\npeople will understand the importance of financial planning and\nresponsible investment, and be able to use various financial products\nand services safely and wisely.
