        "content": "<p>Pefindo ties up with S&amp;P<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Pefindo, Indonesia's only rating agency, will<br>\nreceive technical assistance from Standard &amp; Poor's, an<br>\ninternational rating company.<\/p>\n<p>A Pefindo director, Urip Suprodjo, said that the agreement on<br>\ntechnical assistance with Standard &amp; Poor's would be signed here<br>\non July 22.<\/p>\n<p>He said Pefindo has so far cooperated with a number of<br>\ninternational rating agencies in improving the quality of its<br>\nratings.<\/p>\n<p>At present, Pefindo receives technical assistance from IBCA, a<br>\nBritish rating agency specializing in the financial sector, and<br>\nthe Rating Agency of Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>Pefindo is the only rating company authorized by the<br>\ngovernment to assign ratings on Indonesia's commercial papers and<br>\nbonds issuers.<\/p>\n<p>The number of companies applying for Pefindo's ratings has<br>\nreached 106 since its establishment two years ago, with an<br>\naverage capitalization of Rp 100 billion (US$45.45 million) per<br>\nissue.
