Police in Cimahi, West Java, anticipate the peak of the return flow of Eid al-Fitr holidaymakers and tourists passing through the Purbaleunyi Toll Road at KM 125 to occur on Tuesday afternoon, with traffic currently remaining normal. Authorities have prepared contingency measures, including selective road closures and one-way systems in nearby tourist areas like Lembang, to manage potential congestion and ensure smooth movement towards Jabodetabek. This preparation highlights the critical role of infrastructure management in handling post-holiday traffic surges, supporting regional economic recovery and mobility.

Police predict that the peak return flow of holidaymakers and
tourists during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah period via the Purbaleunyi
Toll Road at KM 125 in Cimahi City, West Java, will occur today, Tuesday
(24/3/2026) afternoon. Handling schemes have already been prepared to
anticipate traffic density on the route.

Based on Republika’s observations around 11:30 WIB, traffic flow on
the Purbaleunyi Toll Road at KM 125, which serves as a quick access
route towards the Jabodetabek region, still appears normal. Holiday
vehicles have been observed entering the Rest Area at KM 125, which also
functions as a shadow terminal. Many passengers can be seen accessing
buses through the rest area to return to their places of work after
enjoying a week-long Eid holiday.

“We estimate that today is the peak of the return flow. Yesterday, we
saw many people still at tourist spots, and today they are checking out.
It’s likely to increase in the afternoon and evening,” said the Cimahi
Police Chief, AKBP Niko Nurallah Adi Putra, at the Purbaleunyi KM 125
Rest Area.

Niko stated that up to midday, vehicle movements on the Purbaleunyi
Toll Road section under the jurisdiction of Cimahi Police in West
Bandung Regency (KBB) and Cimahi City are still monitored as normal. The
parking pockets at the KM 125 Rest Area are still available, although
some holiday vehicles have entered.

Police have prepared an open-close scheme at the KM 125 Rest Area if
density occurs during the peak return flow of holidaymakers and
tourists. The open-close will be implemented according to field
conditions.

“There are already several CB (action procedures) that we will carry
out. Yesterday, we implemented a CB open-close from 16:00-21:00 WIB, but
not a total open-close. We are selective if the queue becomes really
long,” said Niko.

Niko continued that his side is escorting tourist vehicles in the
northern Bandung area, such as Lembang and Cisarua. There are 103
personnel on standby during the Eid holiday period.

“Then there are 20 dispersal teams on standby if congestion occurs in
Lembang, followed by the implementation of a partial one-way engineering
scheme. Lembang is busy but the wheels are still turning,” said
Niko.

Niko mentioned that tourists from Lembang heading back to their areas
are directed to continue using the arterial route rather than
alternative paths, with escorts from personnel along the route.

“We direct them to keep using the arterial route because there is no
congestion. Traffic is busy but smooth; we implement a partial one-way,”
said Niko.
",
