The management of Kampung Rambutan Terminal in Jakarta anticipates the peak departure of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah travellers on Wednesday afternoon (18/3/2026), following 4,059 passengers on Tuesday (17/3/2026). Destinations include East Java, Yogyakarta, Central Java, West Java, and Sumatra, with additional support buses deployed for popular routes and ticket prices for non-economy classes rising by 30 to 50 percent under regulated caps. This surge highlights the logistical challenges and economic impacts of Indonesia's annual mass migration during the festive season.

JAKARTA - The management of Kampung Rambutan Terminal predicts that
the peak departure for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah mudik at the terminal
will occur on Wednesday afternoon (18/3/2026). This prediction is based
on the number of passengers on H-4 Lebaran, or Tuesday (17/3/2026),
which reached 4,059 people. These passengers departed for various
destinations, such as East Java, Yogyakarta, Central Java, West Java,
and Sumatra. Revi also stated that support buses have been prepared to
anticipate the surge in passengers intending to mudik. “Indeed, for
popular destinations, especially long-distance ones and closer popular
destinations like Central Java, additional support buses have been
provided. Currently, there are already three additional buses,” he said.
There is a ticket price increase for buses during this year’s mudik
season of around 30 to 50 percent, depending on the bus class. “For
economy fares, they are regulated by the government, calculated in
rupiah per kilometre. But for non-economy fares such as AC, sleeper, and
executive, they are left to the market or bus companies. So bus
companies are free to set fares but must not exceed the upper and lower
limits,” he explained. From Kompas.com observations, the waiting area at
Kampung Rambutan Terminal appeared crowded with numerous passengers
carrying suitcases and large bags. Several drivers also underwent health
checks in the terminal’s health room.
",
