National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo officially\nimplemented a national one-way traffic engineering scheme to ease\ncongestion during the peak Lebaran return period in 2026. The\ninauguration of the national one-way scheme, marked by a flag-off\nceremony, took place at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate in Semarang on\nTuesday (24\/3) at 14.25 WIB.<\/p>\n
This policy was enacted amid the high volume of vehicles departing\nJakarta via toll roads. As of 24 March 2026, approximately 2,380,401\nvehicles had passed through. During a press conference, the National\nPolice Chief stated that the national one-way traffic engineering would\nbe applied from KM 414 GT Kalikangkung to KM 70 Cikampek.<\/p>\n
\u201cPreviously, one-way operations were implemented in stages, and this\nafternoon we are applying the national one-way to alleviate density\nduring the peak return flow,\u201d said the National Police Chief.<\/p>\n
At the event, the National Police Chief was accompanied by several\nofficials, including the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and\nCulture, the Minister of Transportation, the Minister of Health, the\nHead of the Toll Road Business Entity, the President Director of PT Jasa\nMarga, and other related officials. Also present were the Governor of\nCentral Java and the Central Java Police Chief.<\/p>\n
Before the launch began, the National Police Chief took the\nopportunity to greet the holiday returnees queuing at the toll gate. On\nthat occasion, he distributed hundreds of aid packages containing\nsnacks, health supplies, and children\u2019s toys to help reduce boredom\nduring the journey.<\/p>\n
The National Police Chief emphasised that safety must be the top\npriority during the return flow. He urged the public not to push\nthemselves if feeling fatigued.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the public undertaking return journeys, please continue to\nmaintain security and safety. Utilise the facilities provided, such as\nrest areas, security posts, and integrated posts. If tired, please rest\nand do not force yourself,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n
Additionally, the public was encouraged to use other modes of\ntransportation, such as trains, to reduce density on land routes.<\/p>\n
The Indonesian National Police ensured that all personnel along toll\nroads and arterial routes remained fully alert to provide optimal\nservice to the public.
