PDIP spokesperson, Guntur Romli, has described the plan for\nIndonesia\u2019s seventh President, Joko Widodo, alias Jokowi, to conduct\n\u2018blusukan\u2019 (field visits) to several regions as an act of arrogance by\nthe PSI party.<\/p>\n
He stated that the plan does not need to be taken seriously, let\nalone feared. \u201cIt is merely a form of PSI\u2019s arrogance, not a statement\nthat needs to be responded to, much less feared,\u201d said Gunrom, as he is\naffectionately known, when contacted on Sunday (5\/7).<\/p>\n
This statement was made by Gunrom in response to Jokowi\u2019s planned\nvisits to Central Java in mid-July. Gunrom believes that PSI and Jokowi\nwill not be able to achieve much, even though the visits are planned for\nCentral Java, which is considered a stronghold for the PDIP (the \u2018Bull\u2019s\nden\u2019). In his view, PSI is simply being overconfident.<\/p>\n
He noted that PSI has yet to enter parliament, despite receiving\ndirect support from Jokowi during his presidency leading up to the 2024\nelection. \u201cEven with the full support of Jokowi when he was still\npresident, with the tagline \u2018PSI is Jokowi\u2019s Party\u2019 and featuring\nJokowi\u2019s photo on all billboards, Jokowi himself failed to get PSI into\noffice, let alone a presidency,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
Jokowi is expected to be accompanied by his son, who is also the\nGeneral Chair of PSI, Kaesang Pangarep, during his safari in Central\nJava. However, the specific regencies and cities to be visited have not\nyet been disclosed.<\/p>\n
