The Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Indonesian
Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) in East Java is once again holding a
dialogue forum called RedTalks as a platform to absorb the aspirations,
ideas, and critical views of the younger generation. The forum, now in
its second year, is scheduled to take place at the Malang Creative
Centre on Saturday (25/7/2026).

Chairman of PDIP East Java, Said Abdullah, explained that the
implementation of RedTalks is based on the dynamics of Generations Y, Z,
and early Alpha, who live amidst digital technology disruption. He
stated that the current communication approach towards young people must
prioritise an open and dialogical method.

“Today’s young people can be far more critical in digesting
situations because they can compare conditions across various regions.
Through RedTalks, we want to hear the voices of young people as voices
of pure idealism,” Said stated in a written release on Friday
(24/7/2026).

This year’s RedTalks forum carries the theme “Indonesia is Ours”. The
discussion is designed to dissect the younger generation’s imagination
regarding the nation’s future, economic challenges, academic freedom,
creative spaces, and critiques of intergenerational behaviour.

To spark an interactive discussion, the committee has assembled a
panel of speakers from academic, comedian, and student leadership
backgrounds. Scheduled speakers include Dr. Selvi Asna Prestianawati, an
academic from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Brawijaya
University; Dr. Suko Widodo, an academic from the Faculty of Social and
Political Sciences at Airlangga University; and comedians Abdel Achrian
and Dewangga.

Said invited all youth and student elements in the Greater Malang
area to attend and actively utilise this dialogue space to convey their
ideas and concerns. He emphasised that ownership of Indonesia’s future
lies in the hands of all the people, particularly the younger
generation, and not in the hands of a small political or economic
elite.
",
