\u201cIf the presidential threshold follows a political party approach, we\nmight agree,\u201d Said told reporters at the Parliament Complex on Monday,\n21 September 2026.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the House of Representatives\u2019 Budget Committee added\nthat the nomination mechanism for the president and vice-president needs\nto be formulated rationally so that the resulting candidates are\nacceptable to the public.<\/p>\n
In addition to a minimum threshold, Said proposed the implementation\nof a maximum limit on the number of political parties that can join to\nsupport a single candidate pair. For instance, he suggested that a\ncandidate pair could be required to secure support from a minimum of two\npolitical parties and a maximum of four.<\/p>\n
