        "content": "<p>PDI-P legislators reported to police<\/p>\n<p>TANGERANG: A councillor-ellect from the Indonesian Democratic<br>\nParty of Struggle (PDI-P) in Tangerang regency, Barhum, 38, was<br>\nreported to Tangerang Police on Monday for allegedly submitting a<br>\nfake high school diploma for his candidacy.<\/p>\n<p>Barhum was reported by another PDI-P official in Sepatan<br>\ndistrict Ali Musa, who said Barhum never graduated from SMUN 2<br>\nstate high school.<\/p>\n<p>The school principal Lily Istifa confirmed that Barhum did not<br>\ngraduate from the school in 1987 as stated in the diploma that he<br>\nused when registering as a candidate.<\/p>\n<p>Budi Usman, the deputy chairman of the poll monitoring group<br>\n(Panwaslu) in the regency, said that Panwaslu would again run<br>\nsome checks on the diploma Barhum submitted.<\/p>\n<p>Barhum did not speak directly to the allegations, but said<br>\ninstead that Panwaslu and the electoral commission had cleared<br>\nhim. \"I've already passed the verification process held by the<br>\nGeneral Elections Commission (KPU), Panwaslu and the regency<br>\neducation agency,\" he argued.<\/p>\n<p>Barhum then announced that he was going to file a police<br>\nreport against his party comrade Ali Musa for defamation. -- JP<\/p>",
