PDI-P delays celebration<\/p>\n
DENPASAR, Bali: A party's ceremony to commemorate the 29th
\nanniversary of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI
\nPerjuangan) here has been moved back to a date convenient for the
\nparty's chairwoman President Megawati Soekarnoputri.<\/p>\n
The event's organizing committee chairman I Made Urip said
\nthat Megawati would be unable to attend the event if it were to
\ntake place on its originally scheduled date of Jan. 23, due to
\nher busy state agenda in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
It is hoped that Megawati will speak at the party function.<\/p>\n
Urip, who is a House of Representatives legislator, said the
\ncommittee was working out how to guarantee Megawati's appearance
\nat the event.<\/p>\n
\"The chairman's speech is much awaited here, and we are ready
\nto hold the anniversary celebration at any time until March,\" he
\nwas quoted by Antara news agency as saying.<\/p>\n
The committee is waiting confirmation from the party's
