        "content": "<p>The South Jakarta city administration has praised PD Pasar Jaya for\noperating a modern teba (composting pit) at Pasar Minggu market to\nmanage organic waste. \u201cThe management here is quite good because waste\nseparation is done from the start. The waste that goes into the modern\nteba is organic waste,\u201d said South Jakarta Mayor Syafrin Liputo during a\nvisit to Pasar Minggu on Monday. Syafrin stated that the facility has a\nprocessing capacity of approximately six to eight tonnes of waste per\nday. The presence of this facility is considered capable of\nsignificantly reducing the volume of waste entering the temporary\ndisposal site around the market. In addition to organic waste\nmanagement, the market also manages non-organic waste for further\nsorting. \u201cMeanwhile, non-organic and residual waste is taken to another\nlocation for further sorting,\u201d he said. The Pasar Minggu sub-district in\nSouth Jakarta is developing a citizen-based circular or sustainable\neconomy concept through waste management at the source, food security,\nand the utilisation of household waste to provide added economic value.\nThis concept is realised through the development of waste banks,\ncomposters, kitchen waste tubes (losida), food cultivation, and the\ncollection of used cooking oil. According to him, these various\ninnovations originated from residents\u2019 ideas, which were then\nfacilitated by the sub-district government together with various\nstakeholders. He noted that there are currently 12 active waste banks\nacross 10 community units (RW) that routinely weigh inorganic waste\nevery month. In June 2026, the volume of inorganic waste collected\nreached more than 800 kilogrammes in a single weighing, and in several\nRWs, weighing has been conducted twice a month. Furthermore, a number of\nRWs are also developing composters and compost shredding machines to\nprocess organic waste into fertiliser.<\/p>",
