        "content": "<p>The General Chair of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU), KH\nAbdul Hakim Mahfudz (Gus Kikin), supports the evaluation of the Free\nNutritious Meal (MBG) programme, emphasising the need for more\nintegrated management.<\/p>\n<p>Gus Kikin made these remarks in response to a food poisoning incident\ninvolving the MBG programme at the Manbaul Hikam Islamic Boarding School\nin Sidoarjo, East Java, which resulted in hundreds of students being\nhospitalised.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is about integrity; if everyone takes responsibility for their\nactivities and work, hopefully, such incidents (MBG poisoning) will not\nrecur. Integrity means that each of us must be responsible for our\nrespective activities and adhere to the regulations implemented within\nour respective tasks,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is just one of many such incidents; we must continue forward\nbecause boarding schools must remain operational,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Romo\nMuhammad Syafising, has requested that the suspected food poisoning\nexperienced by students at the Manbaul Hikam Islamic Boarding School be\ninvestigated to determine the exact cause.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince this kitchen has been supplying these children for almost a\nyear and a problem has only just arisen, we certainly need to\ninvestigate what actually happened,\u201d the Deputy Minister said in a\nstatement in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>During his visit, eight patients were found to be undergoing\ntreatment. Of that number, five patients have been discharged, while\nthree others still require medical care.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Deputy Minister, the complaints reported by the\nstudents related to abdominal discomfort and nausea, though the\nconditions were not severe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEight people were treated. According to the hospital head, five will\nbe discharged within five days, leaving three. The children complained\nof stomach pain and nausea, but it was not too severe,\u201d the Deputy\nMinister concluded.<\/p>",
