        "content": "<p>Yahya Cholil Staquf, the Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul\nUlama (PBNU), said Indonesia could utilise the Board of Peace to\nreconcile the United States and Israel, which are at war with Iran.\nAlthough the founder of the Board of Peace, the United States, is\ninvolved in war, Yahya believes Indonesia does not need to leave the\norganisation.<\/p>\n<p>Yahya said Indonesia should seek ways to use the Board of Peace for\npeace efforts. \u2018Whatever is in our hands, let us make use of it,\u2019 Yahya\nsaid as he prepared to attend a breaking-of-the-fast event with\nPresident Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta,\nThursday, 5 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to Yahya, the Board of Peace can still be a platform for\nIndonesia even as it appears powerless in the face of the US-Israel\nconflict with Iran. \u2018Let there not be anyone who, even if it seems weak,\ndiscard something that could actually be used\u2014that\u2019s not how you do it,\u2019\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>Yahya said Indonesia should utilise all instruments available for\npeace efforts. \u2018If we need to dig a hole but there is no spade, and we\nhave only a spoon, then we dig with the spoon. Something like that,\u2019\nYahya added.<\/p>\n<p>In the breaking-of-the-fast event with leaders of Islamic community\norganisations today, Yahya said Prabowo is likely to provide\nexplanations on various current issues. He said the explanations would\ninclude strategic steps taken by the President, both domestically and\ninternationally. \u2018He may also share his views with leaders and scholars\nregarding the latest developments in the very worrying international\ndynamics,\u2019 Yahya said.<\/p>\n<p>A number of figures from various Islamic community organisations were\ninvited to join the breaking of the fast with Prabowo. Among those\npresent were PBNU Chairman Yahya Cholil Staquf, Muhammadiyah\u2019s Central\nBoard Chairman Haedar Nashir, and Indonesia\u2019s Ulama Council (MUI)\nchairman Anwar Iskandar.<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of other invited guests were also seen arriving at the Istana\nthis afternoon.
