Jakarta (ANTARA) - Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR\nRI) and BPJS Kesehatan have agreed to provide notification to Penerima\nBantuan Iuran (PBI) participants of the National Health Insurance (JKN)\nwho are to be deactivated three months before the policy takes\neffect.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis step is taken to strengthen the governance of participation\npolicies, including ensuring that every deactivation is accompanied by\nsocialisation and notification at least three months before the policy\nis implemented, as well as coordination with all stakeholders, along\nwith protection mechanisms and a transition period for participants who\nare still classified as unable to pay,\u201d said the Chairman of Commission\nIX of the DPR RI, Felly E Runtuwene, during a Hearing with BPJS\nKesehatan attended online in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Felly added that, as a step to improve participation, data validity,\nand participant protection, every deactivation of participants also\nrequires periodic validation and updating of participant data through\ncross-sector data integration, as well as re-screening of inactive\nparticipants to ensure the programme targets the right groups,\nparticularly those in deciles 1\u20135.<\/p>\n
In addition, he continued, policies need to be developed to encourage\nactive and sustainable participation, including anticipating participant\nbehaviour patterns that tend to be active only when services are\nneeded.<\/p>\n
In order to strengthen the governance and sustainability of the JKN\nProgramme, Commission IX of the DPR RI and BPJS Kesehatan are also\ncommitted to adjusting the success indicators of the JKN Programme,\nwhich should not only focus on coverage but also on the level of\nparticipant activity, financial resilience, and the quality of services\nreceived.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, strengthening promotive and preventive services together\nwith the Ministry of Health needs to continue in order to curb financing\ndue to catastrophic diseases that continue to increase every year.<\/p>\n
BPJS Kesehatan also highlighted diabetes mellitus and hypertension in\nyoung age groups, which are now increasing and becoming one of the\nfactors in the rise of catastrophic disease financing, which now reaches\n25 percent of the total health service budget.<\/p>\n
\u201cCases of chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus and hypertension\nare now increasingly found in young age groups. This condition can\nburden long-term financing if not balanced with promotive and preventive\nefforts,\u201d said the Director General of BPJS Kesehatan, Prihati\nPujowaskito.<\/p>\n
He stated that overall, the realisation of benefit costs in 2025 will\nincrease by 11 percent compared to 2024. However, the high financing is\nalso in line with the increasing utilisation of services.
