Payment card for retailers launched<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Consumer goods distributor PT Wicaksana Overseas
\nInternational launched a Visa card that allows customers to
\nsettle their bills from their mobile phones.<\/p>\n
Wicaksana president Bachtiar Yusuf said on Friday that
\nmerchant customers with a Visa credit card account could process
\npayment through LippoBank by using a mobile phone and the card.<\/p>\n
"Payments will be directly debited from their accounts right
\nafter the transactions are approved by Visa," Bachtiar said,
\nadding the process simplified and quickened the payment.<\/p>\n
The agreement was signed by Bachtiar, Visa
\nInternational executive vice president for Southeast Asia and
\nChina James Murray and LippoBank president Ian B. Clyne
\nat the Jakarta American Club on Friday.<\/p>\n
Wicaksana, which boasts up to Rp 240 billion ($25.26 million)
\nturnover each month, expects at least 10 percent of its 200,000
\nclients to take advantage of the card facility, Bachtiar said.<\/p>\n
LippoBank managing director Harry Sasongko said the facility
