Deputy Chairman of House Commission VI, Andre Rosiade, has inspected\nthe Payakumbuh-Sitangkai road section in Jorong Bulakan, Nagari Tanjuang\nGadang, Lareh Sago Halaban District, Limapuluh Kota Regency. Andre\nstated that the road construction has been completed, allowing local\nresidents to enjoy it comfortably.<\/p>\n
The inspection by the Gerindra Party politician was carried out\ntogether with the Head of the West Sumatra National Road Implementation\nAgency (BPJN), Elsa Putra Friandi, on Saturday (22\/8). The 9.5-kilometre\nroad section was built with a budget of approximately Rp 68 billion\nthrough the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads (IJD) programme\nfunded by the state budget.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlhamdulillah, it is finished and smooth. The public can now enjoy\nthis road,\u201d said Andre in his statement on Sunday (23\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
According to him, the road construction is part of President Prabowo\nSubianto\u2019s commitment to accelerate infrastructure development in West\nSumatra. The construction was also monitored by the Ministry of Public\nWorks through the National Road Agency.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the President\u2019s commitment to help accelerate West Sumatra\u2019s\ndevelopment. The President wants West Sumatra to be developed, with\nfunds disbursed through the Ministry of Public Works, through the\nNational Road Agency, using the state budget,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Andre stated that after the Payakumbuh-Sitangkai section, the\ngovernment will continue construction of the section from Sitangkai to\nGuguk Cino and from Guguk Cino to Bukit Gombak in Batusangkar.\nApproximately 3.3 kilometres of road are planned to be built with a\ntotal budget of around Rp 36.5 billion.<\/p>\n
\u201cGod willing, if all goes smoothly, in November or by the end of this\nyear we can begin construction work from Sitangkai to Guguk Cino and\nfrom Guguk Cino to Bukit Gombak in Batusangkar,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Andre said the continuation of construction is also being pushed\nthrough the IJD programme. Once Batusangkar connectivity is realised,\nconstruction will continue in 2027 for the Batusangkar to Ombilin\nroute.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur target is for completion by mid-2027,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Andre emphasised that the road construction has a direct impact on\npublic mobility. Previously, the damaged and potholed road made it\ndifficult for residents to pass, especially during rain.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe community is greatly helped; their mobility is improved. They no\nlonger fear accidents or falls due to the previously damaged, poor and\nmuddy road. Hopefully this road can be maintained so it does not become\ndamaged, allowing the community to enjoy it for longer,\u201d said Andre.<\/p>\n
Head of BPJN West Sumatra, Elsa Putra Friandi, explained that the\nroad construction used concrete or rigid pavement, considering the soil\nconditions and the area\u2019s vulnerability to water. This is expected to\nmake the road more durable.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe soil conditions here are indeed challenging. That is why, at the\ndesign stage, we chose rigid concrete construction, so that it is more\ndurable under load and in areas prone to water,\u201d explained Friandi.<\/p>\n
Friandi said the road width was also increased from approximately\nfour metres to six metres, with concrete thickness reaching 30\ncentimetres. According to him, the road has a maximum axle load standard\nof approximately eight tonnes and can accommodate heavier vehicle loads\nin accordance with conditions and technical provisions.<\/p>\n
Regarding the 2027 IJD programme, Friandi said proposals from\ndistricts and cities in West Sumatra currently amount to approximately\nRp 500 billion. These proposals are still in the verification and\nfinalisation process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe administration is in order and has been evaluated. The National\nRoad Agency has proposed it to the Ministry of Public Works. It is still\nin the verification and finalisation process, just waiting for the\nbudget to be disbursed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Wali Nagari of Tanjuang Gadang, Zamhar, expressed\ngratitude for the road construction. Residents can now enjoy better and\nsafer road access.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you, Mr Andre. Thank you, President Prabowo, for the road.\nPreviously we ate road dust, now alhamdulillah,\u201d said Zamhar.<\/p>\n
A similar sentiment was expressed by Mai Roza, a teacher at SD 01\nTanjuang Gadang. She said the road damage had persisted for nearly 10\nyears and had never received comprehensive repairs.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been nearly 10 years. There were no repairs before,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
She noted that previous repairs were limited to patching potholes.\nHowever, the damage would reappear after rain or when passed by heavy\nvehicles.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were repairs, perhaps if the road had potholes they would\npatch it a little.
