        "content": "<p>Passage of illegal timber intercepted<\/p>\n<p>BATAM, Riau Islands: Police officers have intercepted a tugboat<br>\nand a ship carrying 94 containers of processed timber in Karimun<br>\nKecil waters, Karimun in the Riau Islands.<\/p>\n<p>The ships and crew were apprehended on Sunday for transporting<br>\ntimber without the proper documentation, said Riau Islands Police<br>\nchief of detectives Adj. Sr. Comr. Wawan Irawan.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that most of the containers and their contents<br>\nbelonged to a cooperative run by the Wirabima Resort Military<br>\nCommand based in Pekanbaru, Riau. Other containers belonged to<br>\neight local private companies.<\/p>\n<p>Marianto, a crew member, said he and eight other men working<br>\non the ship were unaware of the containers' contents. He said he<br>\nwas only told by his boss to transport the containers to<br>\nSingapore. -- JP<\/p>",
