Pasar Anyar traders ask for clarification<\/p>\n
BOGOR (JP): Dozens of the 200 kiosk owners at Pasar Anyar
\nmarket here visited the Bogor Mayoralty office on Monday to seek
\nclarification of plans to renovate their shops.<\/p>\n
The group's spokeswoman Erawati said the kiosks, which were
\ndestroyed in a March 28, 1996 fire, were supposed to have been
\nrenovated according to recommendations submitted by an expert
\nteam from the Ministry of Public Works.<\/p>\n
"Unfortunately, we have yet to receive any indication of what
\nis to happen to us and we have been waiting for more than two and
\nhalf years," Erawati, who claimed to represent the 200 kiosk
\nowners, said.<\/p>\n
Instead of providing the visiting traders with a straight
\nanswer, mayoralty spokesman Hari Harsono told the traders that
\nthey should take recourse to their lawyers, adding that the
\nmayoralty would do likewise.<\/p>\n
"It's important because by involving lawyers the case will be
\nsolved based on a legal basis," he said.<\/p>\n
The traders appeared unable to agree upon who to appoint as a
\nlegal representative and some did not even want to bring in
\nlawyers, Hari added.<\/p>\n
"That's why resolving the matter has now become more
