        "content": "<p>Hundreds of part-time Government Employees Under Work Agreements\n(PPPK), comprising healthcare workers (nakes) and technical staff in\nDompu, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), are demanding that their status be\nequalised with teachers, who are set to be appointed as full-time PPPK\nemployees in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>The demand was voiced by the crowd during protests held at the\nRegional House of Representatives (DPRD) office and the Dompu Regent\u2019s\nOffice on Monday (7\/9\/2026). In their speeches, the healthcare and\ntechnical workers said they felt treated as stepchildren by the\ngovernment, which is only addressing the plight of teachers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy are we treated as second-class citizens? Why are teachers being\ngiven special privileges?\u201d said one of the protesters, Siti Sarah, in\nher speech.<\/p>\n<p>Siti Sarah said the work pattern of healthcare workers involves heavy\nlabour that must be carried out over 24 hours, as they attend to\npatients around the clock. Therefore, she continued, healthcare workers\nand teachers are both part-time PPPK employees and their fates should\nnot be differentiated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe serve the public 24 hours a day, putting our lives on the line.\nYet we are all part-time workers, so why should we be treated\ndifferently?\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>According to observations by detikBali, the protest by the healthcare\nand technical workers began with a gathering in front of the Dompu Grand\nMosque. They then marched to the council office, where they took turns\ndelivering speeches and voicing their aspirations.<\/p>\n<p>During the action, they carried banners reading \u2018Full-Time PPPK:\nNon-Negotiable\u2019. They also unfurled a long banner reading \u2018Healthcare\nWorkers and Technical Staff Are Not Slaves of the State\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>After delivering speeches in front of the DPRD office, the protesters\ncontinued their action at the Dompu Regent\u2019s Office. As of now, the\nprotest by the healthcare and technical workers is still ongoing.<\/p>",
