Jakarta \u2014 A member of the House of Representatives Commission XIII,\nMarinus Gea, provided motivation to children held at the Tangerang Class\nI Youth Development Institution (LPKA) on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The motivation was given to prevent the detained children from losing\nhope and to encourage continued learning within the facility in order to\nsupport improved character development.<\/p>\n
\u201cMaking mistakes as a child is part of the maturation process. What\nmatters most is how we turn that past experience into a life lesson to\nbecome a better person,\u201d Marinus said during his visit to LPKA Class I\nTangerang, as cited in the official press statement received in\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
According to Marinus, the presence of children in the LPKA is not the\nend of their life journey, but rather an opportunity to learn\ndiscipline, strengthen character and prepare themselves for future\nlife.<\/p>\n
Here, he said, detained children can pursue character-building\neducation as a foundation for achieving better lives.<\/p>\n
Of course, Marinus continued, this can occur only if the\nrehabilitation provided by the facility\u2019s management is of high quality\nand well-targeted.<\/p>\n
Marinus even encouraged LPKA staff to continue serving as parental\nfigures for the children under their care.<\/p>\n
\u201cStaff here should not merely guard; they should also be parents who\nlisten to the children\u2019s stories, provide direction and offer correction\nwhen necessary,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
During his visit, Marinus also inspected the various facilities\navailable at the centre. He appreciated the facilities and\nrehabilitation provided to the children at the LPKA, including the\nfulfilment of their rights in the fields of health and education.<\/p>\n
