        "content": "<p>Aceh\u2019s emergency response efforts are now concluded, with the\npriority now shifting to the restoration of infrastructure and housing\ndamaged by the disaster.<\/p>\n<p>Nagan Raya (ANTARA) - Teuku Zulkarnaini, a member of Parliament\u2019s\nCommission VII representing Aceh, has urged the central government to\naccelerate the development of infrastructure and housing for residents\ndamaged by the flash flood that struck Aceh on 25 November 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe emergency response phase in Aceh is now complete; what is needed\nnow is the restoration of infrastructure and housing,\u201d Zulkarnaini told\nreporters in Nagan Raya on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the flash flood damage in Nagan Raya district has\ncaused severe destruction and loss of homes in one sub-district -\nBeutong Ateuh Banggalang. Additional damage has affected communities in\nthe sub-districts of Darul Makmur, Tadu Raya, and Tripa Makmur, where\ninfrastructure is similarly damaged and requires maximum intervention\nfrom the central government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all know that local government finances are extremely limited and\ncannot manage disaster infrastructure repairs,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst infrastructure and housing reconstruction funding should come\nfrom the central government, Zulkarnaini emphasised that basic planning\nmust originate from the local level. \u201cThe local government better\nunderstands the detailed damage from the disaster, so we hope the\ngovernment will quickly rebuild damaged facilities in Aceh, including in\nNagan Raya district, which has suffered severe damage,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Nagan Raya district government reported that the flash\nflood damage reached a value of over 1.1 trillion rupiah. Social sector\ndamage amounted to over 75.9 billion rupiah, with cross-sector damage\nreaching over 39.6 billion rupiah.<\/p>\n<p>The district reported that 25,608 people from 8,325 households were\naffected by the flash flood, with three people missing and one death.\nNumerous public facilities and infrastructure sustained light to severe\ndamage, including 29 government offices, three places of worship, and 12\ntraditional Islamic schools. Additionally, 46 schools and four health\nfacilities were damaged, along with seven road sections and three\nbridges that collapsed.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 1,807 houses were affected, comprising 487 severely\ndamaged houses, 283 moderately damaged houses, and 1,043 lightly damaged\nhouses.<\/p>",
