A parking attendant, Dedi, has died after receiving medical treatment\nat a hospital in Palu, having been shot by a member of the Professional\nand Security Division (Propam) of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police,\nAipda AA. The incident began with an argument and a fight between the\ntwo men.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on the results of the joint team\u2019s field investigation,\nmeasured firm action was taken by Aipda AA against D, who is said to\nhave carried out an attack using a sharp weapon or machete,\u201d said\nCentral Sulawesi Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner\nAchmad Muhaimin, in his statement on Friday (28\/8).<\/p>\n
Based on the initial investigation, the case occurred on Thursday\n(27\/8) evening, beginning when Aipda AA arrived in a white Toyota Avanza\nand stopped near a Gorontalo food stall to shop at a minimarket.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt around 8.40 pm local time, after leaving the minimarket, Aipda AA\nwas approached by a man said to be wearing a red shirt. The man then\nasked about parking, and physical contact occurred, leading to an\nargument and a fight,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
During the fight, Achmad said, the parking attendant attacked Aipda\nAA with a machete aimed at his face. AA tried to fend off the attack,\nsuffering injuries to his right hand and losing the ring finger of his\nleft hand.<\/p>\n
\u201cAipda AA then drew an HS-type firearm and fired one warning shot,\nbut based on the investigation results, D continued to pursue him with\nthe machete, so Aipda AA fired several shots at D,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
At the same time, Achmad said, a resident with the initials MA, who\nwas at a shoe repair shop, was injured in the neck, believed to have\nbeen hit by a stray bullet after peeking through a window upon hearing\ngunshots. He was taken to hospital.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter the incident, Aipda AA was helped by residents to go to\nBhayangkara Hospital in Palu for medical treatment. Meanwhile, D and MA\nwere taken to Dr Shindu Trisno Level III Hospital. Police then put up\npolice tape at the scene and processed the crime scene,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
However, the parking attendant was pronounced dead after being\nreferred to Anutapura Regional General Hospital in Palu.<\/p>\n
