        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - An open trial forum to demand accountability\nfrom 16 students at the University of Indonesia\u2019s Faculty of Law (FH UI)\nsuspected of committing sexual harassment was held in the early hours of\nTuesday (14\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The forum brought together the 16 students suspected of sexual\nharassment simultaneously.<\/p>\n<p>They were accompanied by their parents. The victims also attended the\nevent.<\/p>\n<p>The hearing was organised in collaboration between the FH UI Student\nExecutive Body (BEM) and the FH UI Dean\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The Chairman of the FH UI Student Executive Body (BEM), Anandaku\nDimas Rumi Chattaristo, said that initially, only two of the 16\nperpetrators were willing to enter the room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was because the parents of the perpetrators were holding back\nthe other 14,\u201d Dimas told Kompas.com on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter I negotiated, the parents of the perpetrators finally agreed\nto release the other fourteen,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>Dimas admitted that the detention by the parents had temporarily\nheightened tensions among the hearing attendees.<\/p>\n<p>However, the open trial forum was eventually able to proceed\nsimultaneously for all 16 perpetrators after all were permitted by their\nparents to attend the open hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Dimas said that the 16 perpetrators had expressed apologies to the\nvictims.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, all the perpetrators also answered several questions\nregarding the confusion and concerns of the victims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe questions raised were certainly related to the victims\u2019\nconcerns,\u201d Dimas said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho are also confused about why they became victims of sexual\nviolence,\u201d he added.<\/p>",
