        "content": "<p>Papuan People's Assembly<\/p>\n<p>From Tempo<\/p>\n<p>With the promulgation of Government Regulation No. 54\/2004 on <br>\nthe Papuan People's Assembly (MRP), the provincial administration <br>\nof Papua is expected to set up this institution before long.<\/p>\n<p>The MRP is an important body for the process of special <br>\nautonomy in the region. The Papuan community should therefore be <br>\ncareful in electing representatives to the assembly.<\/p>\n<p>However, the MRP is only limited to the function of <br>\ncoordination and the contribution of ideas, without the authority <br>\nto make decisions. The final word remains in the hands of the <br>\ncentral government.<\/p>\n<p>Still, members of the MRP should understand the main task and <br>\nfunction of this assembly because only in this way will <br>\neverything go in line with the message of special autonomy, and <br>\nhopefully meet the aspirations of Papuans for improved public <br>\nwelfare.<\/p>\n<p>WANTO M.
