        "content": "<p>Papua to intensify drug war<\/p>\n<p>JAYAPURA, Papua: Papua governor JP Salossa inaugurated on<br>\nThursday his deputy Constan Karma as the chairman of Papua Anti-<br>\nDrug Body.<\/p>\n<p>The body is established to deal the problem of drug abuse that<br>\nbegun to plague Papua, the country's easternmost province.<\/p>\n<p>\"Papua is facing the danger of drug abuse. We have often heard<br>\nreports that hashish is being transported from the Papua New<br>\nGuinea to Papua, while other illicit hallucinogens were often<br>\nsent to Java.<\/p>\n<p>We have to intensify the war on drugs,\" said Salossa.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, 24 drug suspects were arrested by Papua provincial<br>\npolice, two were Papua New Guinea nationals.<\/p>\n<p>From them, the police seized hashish and ecstasy.<\/p>\n<p>Constan said that he would step up surveillance on the influx<br>\nof drugs. -- JP<\/p>",
