        "content": "<p>Jayapura \u2013 Papua Governor Mathius D Fakhiri has given an Eid gift for\n1447 Hijriyah to the local community in the form of motor vehicle tax\n(PKB) relief. This is done to encourage taxpayer compliance while\nincreasing regional revenue. \u201cThis policy is a form of stimulus for the\ncommunity to promptly settle their tax obligations, both active ones and\nthose in arrears,\u201d he said in Jayapura on Monday (23\/3\/2026). Mathius\nhopes that the public will take advantage of this gift. \u201cWe are\nproviding exemption from administrative penalties as well as discounts\non the principal motor vehicle tax. For compliant taxpayers who pay\nbefore the due date, a 15 percent discount is given as a form of\nappreciation,\u201d he stated. He explained that for vehicle owners with\noverdue taxes or who are late in re-registering, incentives are offered\nin the form of penalty waivers and a 10 percent discount on the\nprincipal tax for each year of arrears. \u201cWe are also providing a 30\npercent discount for vehicles from outside the region that are being\ntransferred into Papua,\u201d he added. He further noted that this programme\nof penalty exemptions and discounts for arrears and vehicle transfers\nwill apply for three months, from 1 April to 30 June 2026. \u201cWe urge the\npublic not to delay payments and to take advantage of the programme by\nvisiting Samsat offices, service kiosks, or the Mobile Samsat Unit\nbefore the deadline expires,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
