Pantai Kapuk fraud case<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Attorney General Singgih has stated that his
\noffice is currently preparing a lawsuit against 11 people for
\ntheir alleged involvement in the falsification of a reclamation
\nsurvey in Pantai Kapuk, a coastal area in West Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a hearing with members of the House of
\nRepresentatives on Tuesday evening, Singgih said that the 11
\nsuspects include geology experts and executives of a company
\nwhich paid Rp 21 million (US$9,545) to hire the experts.<\/p>\n
"They falsified the reports of the survey by cutting out a
\nsignature of Badarudin, the chairman of Irrigation Research and
\nDevelopment Center of the Ministry of Public Works, and pasting
\nit onto the report," Singgih said.<\/p>\n
The original signature was cut out and attached to the
\nproposal, which was then photocopied so that it looked like a
\ncopy of an original document approved by the related institution,
\nhe said.<\/p>\n
A dossier on the case is currently being prepared by the
\nJakarta Prosecutor's Office, he said, adding that as soon as it
\nis completed it will be delivered to the court. (hhr)<\/p>",
