        "content": "<p>Makassar (ANTARA) - Commander of Kodam XIV\/Hasanuddin, Major General\nTNI Bangun Nawoko, is continuing to complete the construction of pioneer\nbridges to support President Prabowo\u2019s programme for equitable\ndevelopment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our commitment through the construction of pioneer bridges\nin areas that still require connecting access,\u201d said the Pangdam in a\npress statement in Makassar on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>He said his team had inspected the Perintis Garuda bridge over the\nLamagara River in Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi. The bridge connects\nAnabanua Urban Village in Maniangpajo District with Macanang Urban\nVillage in Majauleng District.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the construction of the Perintis Garuda Bridge is\npart of the strategic programme of President Prabowo Subianto entrusted\nto the Indonesian Army to accelerate equitable development, particularly\nin areas that require connecting infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis programme will continue to be implemented in South Sulawesi and\nSoutheast Sulawesi, especially in areas that still need bridges as vital\naccess for the community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>To date, he continued, Kodam XIV\/Hasanuddin has built 133 Perintis\nGaruda bridges within its area of operations. In Wajo Regency\nspecifically, seven bridges have been built through the programme.<\/p>\n<p>The presence of these pioneer bridges, he added, is expected to open\nup public access while facilitating mobility for various activities,\nincluding economic, educational, agricultural and social activities.<\/p>\n<p>The infrastructure development is also an effort to provide safer and\nmore comfortable access for communities that previously faced\nlimitations when crossing areas divided by rivers.<\/p>\n<p>The Pangdam assessed that the sustainability of the bridges\u2019 benefits\ndepends not only on physical construction, but also on the community\u2019s\ncare in maintaining and looking after the facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, he called on the public to jointly look after the Perintis\nGaruda bridges so that they can be used in the long term and continue to\nbenefit residents.<\/p>\n<p>The Pangdam explained that the construction of pioneer bridges will\ncontinue to be intensified as part of efforts to support government\nprogrammes while strengthening the state\u2019s presence in meeting the basic\nneeds of communities in areas that still require infrastructure\naccess.<\/p>",
