The son of former Sleman Regent Sri Purnomo\nhas been named a suspect in the case dating back to 2020. Regarding\nAkmal\u2019s position in the legislature, the Regional Leadership Council\n(DPD) of the National Mandate Party (PAN) in Sleman Regency has spoken\nout. Chairman of PAN Sleman DPD, Raden Inoki Azmi Purnomo, stated that\nhis party will coordinate with the Provincial Leadership Council (DPW)\nand the Central Leadership Council (DPP) concerning Raudi Akmal\u2019s fate.\n\u201cRegarding the position of brother Raudi Akmal as a faction member and\nas a follow-up to the legal status attached to brother RA, we are\ncoordinating with the DPW and DPP to take steps in accordance with party\nrules,\u201d he said when contacted on Tuesday (23\/6\/2026). Meanwhile,\nconcerning the legal case ensnaring Raudi, Inoki said his party has not\nyet decided whether to provide legal assistance for Raudi or not. \u201cNot\nyet (decided whether to provide legal assistance), we are still\ncoordinating,\u201d Inoki explained. \u201c(But) It is very possible that PAN will\nprovide legal assistance as part of objective law enforcement,\u201d added\nthe member of Commission C of the Yogyakarta Special Region DPRD. Inoki\nalso emphasised that PAN respects the ongoing law enforcement process.\nHis party also encourages the legal process to proceed transparently and\nobjectively. As previously reported, the Sleman District Prosecutor\u2019s\nOffice (Kejari) named Sleman Regency DPRD member Raudi Akmal as a\nsuspect in the alleged corruption case of the 2020 Sleman Regency\ntourism grant. After being named a suspect, Raudi was immediately\ndetained and taken to the Class II A Detention Centre Yogyakarta, also\nknown as Wirogunan Prison, on Monday (22\/6) evening. The confirmation of\nthe suspect designation for the son of former Sleman Regent Sri Purnomo\nwas announced directly by Sleman Chief Prosecutor Bambang Yunianto.\nPreviously, Raudi had twice failed to appear for examination by\ninvestigators. On the third summons, Raudi appeared and was immediately\nnamed a suspect by investigators. \u201cToday, Monday, 22 June 2026,\ninvestigators from the Sleman District Prosecutor\u2019s Office have elevated\nthe status of a witness and named him as a suspect in the development of\nthe alleged criminal case of corruption involving irregularities in the\nmanagement of tourism grant funds in Sleman Regency in 2020,\u201d said\nBambang while providing information to journalists at the Sleman\nProsecutor\u2019s Office on Monday evening. \u201cThe witness with the initials\nRA. I repeat, the witness with the initials RA who is a member of the\nSleman Regency DPRD for the 2019 to 2024 period and the 2024 to 2029\nperiod,\u201d he continued. Bambang added that the case\u2019s position is that in\n2020, Sleman Regency received a grant from the Ministry of Finance of\nthe Republic of Indonesia amounting to IDR 68 billion for handling the\nCOVID-19 pandemic and its impacts. This was stipulated in the Minister\nof Finance Regulation No.\u00a046\/PMK.07\/2020 and the Decree of the Minister\nof Tourism and Creative Economy No: KM\/694\/PL.07.02\/M-K\/2020, which was\namended by Decree No: KM\/704\/PL.07.02\/M-K\/2020 concerning Technical\nGuidelines for Tourism Grants in the Context of National Economic\nRecovery for Fiscal Year 2020. \u201cFrom the results of the investigation\ndevelopment carried out by the Sleman District Prosecutor\u2019s Office\nInvestigation Team, active actions by suspect RA were found in the\nmanagement of the Tourism Grant Funds in Sleman Regency in 2020,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>",
