Jakarta \u2014 PT PAM Jaya (Perseroda) is developing sustainability\ninnovations to reduce plastic waste and to advance technology that\ncreates water by capturing water particles from the air.<\/p>\n
PAM Jaya Director-General Arief Nasrudin stated that the company\nplans to produce environmentally friendly packaged drinking water using\npaper-based packaging to replace plastic bottled drinking water.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will have bottled water from us, but the packaging will be paper.\nWe won\u2019t use plastic,\u201d said Arief at City Hall on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
According to Arief, the drinking water will be packaged using\npaper-based materials, making it easier to recycle compared to\nsingle-use plastic bottles.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy plan is to give the DKI Jakarta government, the provincial\ngovernment, instructions not to use plastic bottled water anymore and we\nwant to offer a trial for free,\u201d Arief said.<\/p>\n
Arief hopes that the introduction of paper-packaged drinking water\nwill be an initial step to reduce the use of plastic bottles that have\nbeen widely used in various government office activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully, eventually every meeting in government offices will no\nlonger use plastic bottled water,\u201d said Arief.<\/p>\n
With this technology, residents will be able to consume water\ndirectly without needing to boil it.<\/p>\n
