        "content": "<p>PAM billing and meter readers<\/p>\n<p>From Warta Kota<\/p>\n<p>We are customers of Jakarta drinking water company (PAM)<br>\nliving in Johar Baru village, Central Jakarta. In the past year,<br>\nthe monthly payment of PAM drinking water supply has amounted to<br>\nhundreds of thousands of rupiah. It is too much as we, a family<br>\nwith two children, use PAM&apos;s water only for washing clothes,<br>\nbathing and cooking.<\/p>\n<p>We had never checked the condition of our water meter until a<br>\nPAM dyke broke last month causing the disruption of water<br>\nsupplies for a week. We were prompted to check our water meter as<br>\nPAM Jaya&apos;s claim soared from Rp 70,000 to Rp 115,000. We found<br>\nout that the water meter did not function and was badly rusted.<br>\nWe observed this instrument had failed to function for a long<br>\ntime.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, we strongly suspect that PAM Jaya&apos;s meter<br>\ncontrollers have written down the tariff without seeing the water<br>\nmeter. It is really unfair and harmful to customers. When a<br>\ncontroller came recently we asked him to show us what he had<br>\nnoted so far, he tried to argue defensively and became emotional,<br>\nrevealing his behavior as a hoodlum.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, we ask PAM Jaya to be more responsible for the<br>\nmalfunctioning of its water meters and to urge this company to<br>\nassign more polite water meter readers in future.<\/p>\n<p>MRS.
