Palyja warns of supply problems<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The city's joint venture tap water company PT
\nPAM Lyonnaise Jaya (Palyja) warned on Tuesday of a possible
\ndisruption in water supplies.<\/p>\n
In a written statement on Tuesday, Palyja announced that due
\nto the high turbidity of the water in Cisadane River, Tangerang
\nregency-owned water company PAM Kerta Raharga had decreased its
\nwater supply to Palyja by 50 percent since Monday.<\/p>\n
Palyja is currently receiving a water supply of about 1,200
\nliters per second, down from the normal supply of 2,200 liters
\nper second.<\/p>\n
Palyja said it was doing its best to minimize the problem by
\nincreasing production at the Pejompongan Water Treatment Plant by
\n20 percent.<\/p>\n
The company also said it was operating all of the water trucks
\nin its fleet, but due to the size of the problem the vehicles
\nwere only able to serve public hospitals.<\/p>\n
Palyja further suggested residents fill up their water tanks
\nwhen the water flow returned to normal in order to anticipate
\npossible disruptions in the water supply.<\/p>\n
\"Palyja hopes that this problem will normalize within 24 hours
\nand we will update the public with any developments,\" it
