        "content": "<p>Palyja responsive to complaints<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: A member of the Water Users Committee (KPAM) told the<br>\nCentral Jakarta District Court on Wednesday that water firm PT<br>\nPAM Lyonnaise Jaya (Palyja) had become more responsive to<br>\ncustomer complaints.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of KPAM&apos;s Central Jakarta chapter, Muhammad Nuh, told<br>\nthe court that the problems of leaks and a lack of continuity in<br>\nwater flow in the North Petojo subdistrict have now been<br>\nresolved.<\/p>\n<p>Nuh, however, acknowledged that customer complaints were still<br>\nabundant, and requested that Palyja promptly and fully address<br>\nthem all.<\/p>\n<p>Nuh was asked by Palyja to testify in a civil lawsuit filed by<br>\nthe Jakarta Water Consumers Community (Komparta) against foreign<br>\nwater firms Palyja and PT Thames PAM Jaya (TPJ), in which the<br>\nKomparta had demanded the cancellation of water rate hikes due to<br>\nthe firms&apos; poor service.<\/p>\n<p>The trial was adjourned until June 16 to give time for each<br>\nparty to prepare their summations. --JP<\/p>",
