Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - GAPKI Chairman Eddy Martono has spoken out\nregarding Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa\u2019s allegations of\nunder-invoicing and transfer pricing practices by 10 major companies in\nthe crude palm oil (CPO) sector.<\/p>\n
Eddy stressed that the association would not protect any member found\nguilty of breaking the law, and that legal proceedings should proceed if\nthe allegations are proven.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrankly, these are just allegations,\u201d Eddy said during an interview\nat the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) in Jakarta on Tuesday, 26 May\n2026. \u201cGAPKI has agreed that if any member violates the law, they must\nbe legally processed. We don\u2019t want just one or two individuals to harm\nthe industry.\u201d<\/p>\n
He emphasised that current allegations cannot be taken as final\nconclusions without legal proof, and urged that the issue not cause\nfurther unrest in the palm oil industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, let the process proceed to confirm whether it\u2019s true or not,\u201d he\nsaid. \u201cBut don\u2019t let mere allegations complicate matters further. If\nproven, legal action is agreed upon.\u201d<\/p>\n
Eddy also confirmed that export reporting systems for GAPKI member\ncompanies are strictly monitored, including foreign exchange flows\nregulated by Bank Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything is recorded, including taxes and exports. The foreign\nexchange is monitored via Bank Indonesia\u2019s SIMODIS system. Once goods\nare exported, Bank Indonesia tracks it immediately. If no foreign\nexchange arrives within three months, a warning is issued, and if still\nunresolved, the account is frozen,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
According to Eddy, if any company is found guilty, it would not\ndisrupt the national palm oil industry\u2019s governance. He believes the\ncase involves only specific individuals and does not represent the\nentire industry.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just a legal process involving individuals, not the whole\nindustry,\u201d Eddy added. \u201cThis shouldn\u2019t destabilise the industry, as long\nas governance remains stable.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs long as it\u2019s a legal process for those who have violated the law,\nI don\u2019t think it will disrupt the industry,\u201d Eddy continued.<\/p>\n
When asked about allegations of shell companies abroad, as previously\nmentioned by the government, Eddy declined to comment further and urged\nlaw enforcement agencies to handle the investigation.<\/p>\n
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has begun naming companies\nunder investigation for transfer pricing, including Wilmar and Musim\nMas, with coal companies also being probed for export price\nmanipulation.<\/p>\n
