        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2013 Perumda Paljaya and PT Kereta Api Indonesia\n(Persero) have agreed to explore cooperation in providing wastewater\nmanagement services at stations, assets, and infrastructure owned and\nmanaged by PT KAI.<\/p>\n<p>This cooperation will be carried out through the signing of a\nmemorandum of understanding, which is the initial step in creating\nsynergy between Paljaya and PT KAI to realise more integrated,\nprofessional, and sustainable wastewater management in the railway\nenvironment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis cooperation also reaffirms the commitment of Paljaya and PT KAI\nin maintaining environmental quality and public health in station areas\nand other operational assets,\u201d said the Director General of Perumda\nPaljaya, Untung Suryadi, in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The scope of the memorandum of understanding includes the development\nand management of a centralised domestic wastewater management system\n(SPALD-T), the management of wastewater treatment plants (IPAL), and the\nscheduled collection and treatment of sludge or sludge resulting from\nIPAL processing.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, it includes the provision of IPAL facilities and\ninfrastructure, the management of hazardous and toxic waste (B3), and\nthe evaluation of existing domestic wastewater management and B3 waste\nmanagement systems.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, both parties agreed to continue technical discussions\nand further studies as a basis for preparing a more detailed cooperation\nagreement in the next phase.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout 2025, Paljaya has implemented various Corporate Social\nResponsibility (CSR) programmes in the field of sanitation, including\nCSR collaboration with PT Sucofindo in Pancoran, CSR collaboration with\nPT PLN in Semper Barat, and most recently, with PAM Jaya, implementing\nthe revitalisation of public toilets in the Manggarai sub-district.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPalejaya also invites PT KAI to participate in CSR programmes in the\nfield of sanitation as a form of real contribution to the environment\nand public health,\u201d said Untung.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration between Paljaya and PT KAI is expected to become a\nmodel for integrated wastewater management in the transportation sector,\nwhile also strengthening the role of both institutions in supporting\nsustainable development and environmental protection.<\/p>",
