        "content": "<p>Palestinian Tourism and Antiquities Minister Hani Al-Hayek has\nstressed the importance of national efforts to monitor and protect\narchaeological and historical sites in Palestine, particularly those\ndirectly threatened by the Israeli occupation and Zionist settler\nterror.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Hayek made the remarks on Saturday (8\/8) while inspecting\nhistorical and archaeological sites in the towns of Al-Karmel, Yatta,\nand Beit \u2019Amra in the Hebron governorate, Palestine.<\/p>\n<p>The inspection covered the archaeological sites of Qasr Al-Karmil,\nQisarya, Khirbet Umm Al-Amad, and Khirbet Beit \u2019Amra, where he assessed\nthe condition and needs of each site.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Hayek also discussed efforts to preserve and develop the sites\nwhile making use of the archaeological and historical assets located\nthere.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Hayek explained that Palestine possesses a variety of unique\narchaeological sites that form an inseparable part of its history and\nnational identity.<\/p>\n<p>He also emphasised his ministry\u2019s commitment to partnering with local\nauthorities and community figures to protect and develop these sites\nusing available resources.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Al-Hayek stated that his ministry would contribute to\ntheir rehabilitation and turn them into visitor-friendly tourist\ndestinations capable of attracting the public and tourists.<\/p>\n<p>Making Palestinian archaeological sites into vibrant tourist\ndestinations can not only boost tourism and stimulate local economic\ngrowth, but also help protect and preserve the sites by strengthening\nthe presence of local communities and increasing national attention to\ntheir protection, he said.<\/p>",
