        "content": "<p>Palangka Raya (ANTARA) - The Palangka Raya City Government in Central\nKalimantan (Kalteng) supports the Ministry of Communication and\nDigital\u2019s (Komdigi) policy restricting social media access for children\nunder 16 years old as an effort to protect the younger generation in the\ndigital space.<\/p>\n<p>Palangka Raya City Secretary Arbert Tombak, in Palangka Raya on\nSunday, stated that the policy represents a strategic step by the\ncentral government in creating a safe and healthy digital ecosystem for\nchildren.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe local government is ready to support the implementation of these\nregulations through socialisation and strengthening digital literacy in\nthe community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, this restriction policy is necessary given the\nincreasing risks faced by children in the digital world. Various threats\nsuch as exposure to negative content, cyberbullying, and online scams\nare the main reasons for the government\u2019s firm action.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, social media addiction is a serious concern because it\ncan impact mental health and reduce children\u2019s social interactions. With\nthis restriction, it is hoped that children can focus more on more\nproductive activities such as learning and personal development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis policy will also help create a more child-friendly digital\nspace, reduce exposure to harmful content, and encourage healthier child\ngrowth and development.
