The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, stated that the\nchange in leadership at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) will not\ninterfere with the progress of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme\nand is instead expected to further strengthen the programme\u2019s services.\n\u201cThe government reaffirms once again that this change in leadership will\nnot disrupt our commitment to implementing the MBG programme carried out\nby the BGN,\u201d Prasetyo said in a press statement at the Presidential\nPalace Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
He expressed hope that this step would serve as a positive beginning\nfor strengthening the delivery of the Free Nutritious Meal programme to\nensure it operates optimally. Prasetyo noted that President Prabowo\nSubianto decided to change the BGN leadership after conducting\nmonitoring and evaluation of the agency\u2019s performance for almost 1.5\nyears.<\/p>\n
According to the Minister, the BGN plays a strategic role in\nsupporting the government\u2019s agenda to improve public nutritional\nquality, necessitating strong governance, effective cross-sector\ncoordination, and leadership capable of ensuring all programmes are\nwell-targeted, timely, and adhere to principles of accountability. He\nexplained that the evaluation process is conducted continuously,\nconsidering input from various parties, including relevant ministries,\nthe public, and MBG programme beneficiaries. \u201cThe President continues to\nconduct monitoring and ultimately evaluates the performance of the\nentire cabinet, including the performance of the BGN,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
In this decision, President Prabowo dismissed Dadan Hindayana from\nthe position of Head of the BGN, as well as Lodewyk Pusung and Sony\nSanjaya from their positions as Deputy Heads of the BGN. The government\nexpressed its appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the three\nindividuals in building the foundation and developing the BGN.<\/p>\n
Subsequently, the President appointed Nani S. Deyang as the new Head\nof the BGN. The President also appointed Agustina Arumsari and Major\nGeneral TNI Trenggono as the new Deputy Heads of the BGN. Prasetyo hopes\nthe new BGN leadership will immediately undertake internal\nconsolidation, strengthen coordination across ministries and agencies,\nand enhance cooperation with regional governments at the provincial and\nregency\/city levels.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe all hope that the new leadership can accelerate the\nimplementation of priority programmes, improve performance, enhance\norganisational governance, and deliver tangible benefits to the\ncommunity, particularly in efforts to improve nutrition, health, and\nIndonesia\u2019s human resources,\u201d said Prasetyo. He emphasised that all BGN\nprogrammes will continue to run during the evaluation process and that\npublic services must not be disrupted.
