        "content": "<p>Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has said President Prabowo\nSubianto is scheduled to visit the earthquake-affected areas in East\nNusa Tenggara (NTT) in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Prasetyo said preparations for President Prabowo\u2019s visit to NTT are\ncurrently under way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is being prepared for the near future, God willing, he will go\nthere,\u201d Prasetyo said at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC) in Senayan,\nJakarta, on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>However, Prasetyo was unable to confirm exactly when the visit would\ntake place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou will be informed later,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>A 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck the NTT region in the early hours\nof Saturday (15\/8). The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency\n(BMKG) issued a tsunami early warning, which was later lifted at 7.30\na.m. Western Indonesia Time.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, President Prabowo said the government was working to\nprovide the best possible response for NTT residents affected by the\nearthquake by deploying relevant agencies to handle conditions on the\nground.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to ensure our brothers and sisters there receive fast and\nmaximum emergency treatment,\u201d Prabowo said via his personal Instagram\naccount <span class=\"citation\" data-cites=\"prabowo\">@prabowo<\/span>,\nmonitored in Jakarta on Sunday (16\/8).<\/p>\n<p>The President also instructed cross-sector cooperation to ensure\npost-earthquake handling proceeds quickly and on target, and asked\nrelevant agencies to see conditions at the disaster site directly.<\/p>\n<p>The President expressed sympathy and prayers for the affected\ncommunities and stressed that safety and the fulfilment of basic needs\nare the government\u2019s priorities in emergency conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe safety and basic needs of residents are the most important\nthings at this time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>As of Saturday (22\/8), the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB)\nrecorded that the number of residents displaced by the earthquake in\nparts of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) had reached 150,576 people.<\/p>\n<p>BNPB also reported that the earthquake in the NTT region had caused\nthe deaths of 31 people in Manggarai, 30 people in East Manggarai, nine\npeople in Sikka, two people in Ende, one person in West Manggarai, 13\npeople in Nagekeo, and four people in Ngada.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the number of injured earthquake victims according to BNPB\ndata stood at 1,298 people, 336 of whom suffered serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 5,832 Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) personnel,\n238 Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel, and 903 volunteers\nfrom 104 organisations have been deployed to assist with the earthquake\nresponse in the NTT region.<\/p>",
