        "content": "<p>Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has conveyed condolences\nover the earthquake in Palu, Central Sulawesi. \u201cWe request permission to\nexpress our sorrow regarding the earthquake in Palu yesterday, which\nresulted in one fatality and several people currently receiving\ntreatment,\u201d Prasetyo stated in Hambalang, Bogor, on Wednesday\n(17\/6).<\/p>\n<p>Pras explained he has coordinated with Central Sulawesi Governor\nAnwar Hafid to ensure the best possible handling for the community. He\nalso urged Palu residents to remain alert for potential aftershocks. \u201cTo\nensure all handling can be carried out as effectively as possible,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>A 6.7 magnitude earthquake shook Parigi Moutong Regency on Tuesday\n(16\/6) at around 10:27 WITA. The tremor was also felt in several areas,\nincluding Palu City, Sigi Regency, Parigi Moutong, and Poso Regency.\nBMKG stated the earthquake was caused by the Sausu Fault, a different\nsource from the 2018 disaster when Palu and parts of Central Sulawesi\nwere devastated by an earthquake and liquefaction from the Palu-Koro\nFault.<\/p>\n<p>One resident was reported dead in Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi, as\na result of this earthquake. Abdul Muhari, Head of the BNPB Data,\nInformation, and Disaster Communication Centre, said that besides the\nfatality, ongoing data collection also shows an increase in the number\nof affected residents and building damage in several areas. \u201cThe\nreported fatality originated from Sigi Regency, which is also the area\nwith the most significant impact,\u201d Abdul Muhari stated in a written\nrelease.<\/p>",
