        "content": "<p>The Presidential Palace has stated it will not intervene in the legal\nprocess concerning the alleged corruption case involving former Junior\nAttorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah. \u201cWe\nleave this matter entirely to the process handled by law enforcement\nofficials,\u201d said Presidential Special Adviser for Communication and\nMedia, Hasan Nasbi, to reporters at the Presidential Palace complex in\nJakarta on Monday. He stressed that the government respects the\nindependence of the law enforcement agencies handling the case.\nAccording to him, the government is not interfering at all in the legal\ndomain involving the former official of the Adhyaksa Corps. Previously,\nthe Police\u2019s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) had named\nformer Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah as a suspect in three clusters of\ncorruption cases. The cases involve alleged corruption and money\nlaundering in the handling of the PT Asabri, Krakatau Steel, and PLN\ncoal procurement cases. Although the case files and evidence have now\nbeen transferred to the Attorney General\u2019s Office for follow-up, the\nprosecution has not yet detained Febrie on the grounds that the\ninvestigation is still ongoing. Prasetyo, who also serves as\nPresidential Spokesperson, said that all legal processes concerning\nFebrie must be left to the applicable mechanisms. Prasetyo also\ndismissed the notion that the examination of Febrie required the\nPresident\u2019s permission. \u201cI think it goes back to the mechanism.
