        "content": "<p>Istanbul (ANTARA) - The exchange of messages between Iran and the\nUnited States via Pakistan\u2019s mediation continues as efforts to reach a\nframework agreement progress, with several differences still to be\nresolved, according to the semi-official Iranian news agency ISNA on\nThursday night (21 May).<\/p>\n<p>According to ISNA, Pakistan\u2019s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who\ntravelled to Tehran for the second time this week, conveyed a message\nfrom the United States to Iranian officials.<\/p>\n<p>Naqvi met with several Iranian officials, including Iranian President\nMasoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Interior\nMinister Eskandar Momeni.<\/p>\n<p>Based on Iran\u2019s 14-point proposal, as reported by Anadolu, Tehran\nseeks separate negotiations on the nuclear program, including uranium\nenrichment, within 30 days of a permanent ceasefire being achieved.<\/p>\n<p>However, the United States wants the nuclear issue discussed and\nresolved before a permanent ceasefire agreement is reached.<\/p>\n<p>The ceasefire has been in effect since 8 April through Pakistani\nmediation, but talks in Islamabad failed to reach a lasting\nagreement.<\/p>\n<p>US President Donald Trump then extended the ceasefire indefinitely\nwhile continuing to block ships sailing to or from Iran\u2019s ports through\nthe strait.<\/p>\n<p>Source: Anadolu<\/p>",
