        "content": "<p>The Pakistani Ambassador to Indonesia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, stated\nthat various financial institutions need to play a role in the\nreconstruction process of Iran if peace with the United States is\nsuccessfully achieved.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Chaudhri made the statement in response to inquiries\nregarding a proposed $300 billion investment fund for Iran, which was\npreviously disclosed by the Foreign Minister of Qatar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInternational institutions, including financial institutions and\ndevelopment finance institutions, must also step forward and take an\nactive role in the reconstruction and rebuilding of regions destroyed by\nIsrael during the war,\u201d he said at the Pakistani Embassy in Jakarta on\nFriday.<\/p>\n<p>According to Chaudlaghri, the primary priority at present is to\nensure that peace is truly realised. He noted that the negotiation\nprocess is ongoing, showing positive progress and moving towards a\nresolution.<\/p>\n<p>Once peace is achieved, he continued, discussions regarding the\nstages of reconstruction and the rebuilding of Iran can commence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce peace is successfully realised, or even concurrently,\ndiscussions regarding the reconstruction and rebuilding of Palestine\nmust be undertaken immediately. All countries must play their part,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed funding mechanism relates to Article 6 of the Islamabad\nMemorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, which\naims to end regional hostilities.<\/p>\n<p>Under these provisions, the United States is committed, alongside\nregional partners, to forming an agreed-upon final programme worth at\nleast $300 billion for the reconstruction and economic development of\nIran.<\/p>\n<p>The memorandum states that the implementation mechanism for this plan\nwill be finalised as part of the final agreement within 60 days, while\nthe United States will provide all necessary approvals, exemptions, and\nlicences for related financial transactions.<\/p>\n<p>Among the provisions of the memorandum are the lifting of the United\nStates\u2019 maritime blockade against Iran and the reopening of the\nstrategic Strait of Hormuz for global energy supplies.<\/p>",
