        "content": "<p>Beijing (ANTARA) - Pakistan\u2019s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has\nstated his country\u2019s readiness to coordinate with China in mediating\nUS-Iran peace talks.<\/p>\n<p>Sharif made the remarks during his meeting with Chinese President Xi\nJinping in Beijing on Monday (25\/5) afternoon, according to a statement\nfrom China\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistan appreciates China\u2019s support for its mediation efforts in\nUS-Iran talks and is prepared to closely coordinate with China to\njointly contribute to global peace and stability,\u201d the statement\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan previously hosted US-Iran peace talks in Islamabad on 11-12\nApril 2026, though no agreement was reached.<\/p>\n<p>Sharif also expressed appreciation for China\u2019s proposals on resolving\nMiddle East conflicts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Xi\u2019s four propositions regarding the Middle East situation\nprovide a guiding framework for achieving peace in the region,\u201d Sharif\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Xi stated that China and Pakistan have built a\nrelationship over the past 75 years based on mutual understanding,\ntrust, and support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegardless of how the international landscape changes, China will\nalways prioritise the development of China-Pakistan relations in its\ndiplomacy with neighbouring countries,\u201d Xi said.<\/p>\n<p>He also affirmed China\u2019s support for Pakistan in safeguarding its\nindependence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n<p>According to Xi, China appreciates Pakistan\u2019s role as a mediator in\nrestoring peace in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>He said both countries would continue to strengthen communication and\ncoordination to oppose unilateralism and Cold War mentality.<\/p>\n<p>Xi also noted that China and Pakistan need to accelerate the building\nof a closer community with a shared future.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Sharif described Xi as a close friend of the Pakistani\npeople and a supporter of global peace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe strong friendship between Pakistan and China, forged by previous\ngenerations of leaders, has become unbreakable and unmatched,\u201d Sharif\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>He also affirmed Pakistan\u2019s adherence to the \u201cOne China\u201d principle\nand support for Beijing on core issues.<\/p>",
