        "content": "<p>Pakistan off ASEAN guest list<\/p>\n<p>MANILA (Reuters): The ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) has decided<br>\nnot to invite Pakistan to a ministerial conference in Manila next<br>\nmonth, Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Domingo Siazon said<br>\nyesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Siazon, who chairs the regional security meeting, said<br>\nPakistan's nuclear rival and ARF member India and several other<br>\nARF members were against the idea of inviting Pakistan, even as a<br>\nguest at an informal dinner.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan is one of several countries to have applied to join<br>\nthe forum which tackles political and security issues in East<br>\nAsia.<\/p>\n<p>The ARF comprises the nine member-states of the Association of<br>\nSoutheast Asian Nations plus the United States, China, Japan,<br>\nRussia, India, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the rotating<br>\nchair country of the European Union.<\/p>",
