Painting contest for blind artists<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A painting contest for blind artists will be
\nheld at the Lippo Supermal Karawaci in Tangerang, about 30
\nkilometers west of here, on Oct. 30, organizer Sukyatno Nugroho
\nsaid yesterday.<\/p>\n
According to noted restaurateur Nugroho, the contest will be
\nheld to highlight the opening of the 193rd outlet of his Es Teler
\n77 franchise restaurant and the third outlet of his Pasti Enak
\nSea Food franchise restaurant.<\/p>\n
Nugroho said that the painting contest for the blind is mainly
\naimed at providing motivation for the handicapped, who are --
\ndespite their physical conditions -- still able to do something
\nuseful in society.<\/p>\n
\"Their paintings may only be in the form of imaginary ones.
\nBut they will show that they can do something for others,\" he
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
The winning paintings from the contest will be auctioned off
\nand the funds collected will be distributed to social
\norganizations such as orphanages, he said.<\/p>\n
The opening of the two outlets will coincide with the launch
\nof a national campaign to increase fish consumption.<\/p>\n
According to Antara, Nugroho indicated that three government
\nministers will be on hand at the ceremony: Ibrahim Hassan
\n(Minister for Food Affairs), Soebiakto Tjakrawerdaja
\n(Cooperatives) and Tungky Ariwibowo (Industry and Trade). (bsr)<\/p>",
